With over eight (8) years in the industry , she has felt it was time to spread her wings further and carve a path within a new ‘family’- OURS! The 4one4 Family!
We are so glad the stars have aligned and the universe has conspired; Bringing a natural light within her, we officially welcome the newest star in our growing family, Joanne Strange!
Let’s take this opportunity to introduce our newest member, and hopefully go from STRANGEr’s to family in a blink of an eye!!!! We’ll take you on a quick tour of her experience and life inside and outside the professional setting and how her determination brought her to where she is right now.
Before joining our Team, Jo shared that her first ever job was at Valhalla ice cream in Moonah, before spending 6 years then working at the Cadbury’s factory in Claremont. After she had her first daughter, she did some casual jobs in between. Before doing some corporate tasks, she unofficially entered the world of real estate when she was cleaning a real estate agency office where she worked during the nighttime and her husband during the daytime (barely crossing paths daily with someone having to look after their daughter).
Jo was inspired by her cousin who was also working in the same real estate agency as the Department Manager for Property Management. From there, she took the leap of putting herself through the real estate course without anyone’s knowledge. And you guessed it? She passed instantly with flying colours; which opened her the opportunities to chase her new dream of working in the real estate world.
She began working in 2013 in a small office in her hometown, New Norfolk. After a year there, another opportunity presented itself and she moved on to a larger company where she worked for almost seven (7) and a half years.
Prior to exploring the field of Business Development, Jo gained an abundance of knowledge in the property management field.
It’s not a ‘zero to hero’ process, but Jo proved how a wave is formed from a droplet of water. And whoosh! She’s 4one4 Property Co.’s newest Business Development Manager now!
Since she’s been doing a similar role previously , Jo knew that her experiences will be beneficial in transitioning into her new position with the 4one4 Property Co. team! And having built her strong reputation in the field already, and knowing reputation can be everything in Tasmania, she envisions a smooth transition the moment she jumps into action at 4one4.
”For me, reputation is everything. And with 4one4 having a great reputation, I think some really good things are coming,” she said.
As the Business Development Manager, Jo will be working alongside both the Property Management and the Sales Team. She’ll be coordinating with investors as she guides them through the process of having an investment property: the processes, provide rental insights, give market appraisals, and the like–and ultimately, guiding them towards our amazing Property Management Team at 4one4 Property Co.
With her career, she already has won a number of awards in Victoria and Tasmania and has been nominated twice for the Top International Business Development Managers. Her efforts and achievements are all wrapped up to one boiling point–all for her family’s future.
During her spare time, she finds joy and contentment in spending time with her near and dear family. She loves to go for walks, and to unwind–she loves to get away to White Beach, a beautiful spot on the Tasman Peninsula, with her partner and 3 children (where they also went before officially starting her journey with us). Aside from that, her family also enjoys light bike riding (Ha and Jo emphasised the ‘light’, when it came to bike riding; stating that her efforts a no-where near as extreme as other 4one4 team members, Patrick & Abbey Berry… or new addition, Sam Allwright!) while seizing every moment.
Another fun fact, Joanne comes from a BIG family. She has three (3) brothers and six (6) sisters, yes, you read that right, 6 Sisters!!!! and Jo Sits firmly in the middle. People might think that with a situation like that, that whilst jostling for attention, they might not get along; but the opposite is true. They love hanging out with one another especially during some special occasions (we can only imagine the unending stories!).
“My biggest thing for me is my family. And I think that’s also one of the reasons why I chose to go with 4one4 Property Co. because they are also a family. Family, for me, is everything.”
You probably had a glimpse already about Jo Strange’s life, so we believe she’s no stranger at all at this point. But, to know more about her, here are some questions which she bravely answered during our chat with her:
What do you think you’ll need in your new journey with 4one4 Property Co.?
“The thing that I’ll be needing is the support of the whole team–property management and sales. For quite a few years now, I have found that having a good bone of relationship with the whole team has helped me lead to my success.”
Do you have any expectations with your new role/company?
“Long term. I want to be there for the long term. I feel that their values are aligned with mine as well, which is what attracted me to 4one4 Property Co. After meeting with Pat and Abbey, it just felt completely right.”
What do you like most about your new team at 4one4 Property Co.?
“I really like the fact that they’re up to date with technology and sort of ahead of the time, which is something that I will need to get used to. In the industry itself, I spoke to a lot of other agents and they always spoke very highly of 4one4 Property Co. Even from my previous workplace, everyone says that they think I’ve chosen the right place because they never heard any negative things, so that’s really encouraging and exciting at the same time!”
What motto has kept you in place until today?
“Treat everyone like how you want to be treated.”
“Don’t ever think that you’re above anybody else. It’s the same when I meet different clients. I know if I should be a little bit more reserved or if I can be a little bit more of myself. Just treat everybody fair and with respect and I think you can go a long way with that.”
Do you have any fun facts about you that many people may not know yet?
“I’m terrified of birds to the extent that I’ll cry when one is near me. I don’t know, but I just hate them haha.”
As her closest friends would describe her, Joanne is a kind-hearted person who’s willing to go the extra mile if somebody needs help. This character of her resonates also with her clients and when she’s at work. Aside from the high communication skills and good response time while always keeping on top of things, she believes she brings great positivity in dealing with her tasks and especially with people.
Joanne has just completed her first day with us at 4one4 Property Co and we already know that we’ll be spending many years together side by side. Don’t forget to come by the office and say “hi” to our newest loving and lovable addition to the team!
