Running backwards and forwards along this predetermined route with a giant 3D printer taken. That technology found this special concrete that’s available to 3D print dwellings.

00:00:11:19 – 00:00:18:09
Unknown
Going one gung ho I know you’re losing the property on.

00:00:18:09 – 00:00:31:23
Unknown
All right, guys, welcome back to the property Pod, your weekly engagement into real estate here in your home up marketplace. It almost wasn’t a weekly engagement. This week we’ve hit the studio light. There’s been a bit going on, so it’s glad that we could sneak in and and have a little chat.

00:00:31:25 – 00:00:53:13
Unknown
Yeah, well, look, I went to a photo shoot and unfortunately it didn’t work out, so it threw my whole day out and I was like, Man, I really was really looking forward to that one this morning. So I got do Day was really telling me because obviously I was canceled as well as like right now you got so afraid Red hot tip John’s got a really nice looking property coming on the market very soon.

00:00:53:13 – 00:01:15:23
Unknown
It just wasn’t ready for photos today. What makes it so good, John The top floor feels like the bedrooms for that because they’re all like that. And do you remember that one? The Peter Pan one with Robin Williams? Oh, actually, I think I saw this one come through. Is that the one area? Riverview. Yeah, right near brides at a primary.

00:01:15:23 – 00:01:33:26
Unknown
Yeah. It’s just a chance like a dream upstate. And when the owners had bought it a the grandkids, when they’re really young, that was justified in place to hang out because everything every the attic, every little room they had, it just felt like their own little escape. Well, yeah, this sounds really silly. You know how the other day come around to your place?

00:01:33:26 – 00:01:50:00
Unknown
Getting ready for their garage sale and Parker was finding all those Nerf guns and stuff. I don’t know why, but in my head, when we got to this place, I was like, Man, this be a fun place to play. Nerf guns. How is it? Because it’s a full service. Yeah. So like, you can’t get cornered and you can run around anywhere.

00:01:50:00 – 00:02:07:23
Unknown
And so, yeah, they had nerf guns come to my head. I was like, Man, I might buy this place. And have nerf wars with the boys. I’m 100% in on that because the two houses that we had long before growing up in seventh doing that was at a full rectangle. In some respects they could do run around circles.

00:02:07:25 – 00:02:25:11
Unknown
You remember that when we had a particularly shorter. So that was, you know, it was very hard to get caught it. There was always a way to weasel your way out of a situation and you could get on the little microphone thing, the intercom, I’m coming to get you. You’ve got nowhere to hide. Yeah, I kind of feel as well growing up with your old man, you had two ways.

00:02:25:11 – 00:02:32:19
Unknown
When I ran a door.

00:02:32:21 – 00:02:51:06
Unknown
Yes, I. Look, John does have a really nice property coming up very soon once it’s photographed. Yeah, I’m sure it’s going to come up a treat. And the reason I was canceled was there was just, you know, a few little touches to finish it off. And as I was leaving, I said, Well, we’re removing the butts. There’s going to be no butts once we get there and take the photos, it’s going to be a sharp looking property.

00:02:51:08 – 00:03:09:03
Unknown
So because they used that campaign agent to get the funds to be able to work, Oh, I hate this stuff. So to sit there and just of that last minute to get all should be right. Like sounds like you two are both in that corner. Oh, well-played, Pat. I was actually just going to side with the campaign, I think.

00:03:09:04 – 00:03:35:20
Unknown
Can you just I know we’ve got an episode about it, but can you explain it to any listeners that haven’t listened to that one, how that kind of works like that episode before I tell me about that, it feels like the episode 100 was only like a week ago we were having the cake, especially you that numbers. Oh my God, this episode has got well, it’s one of our campaign, but it’s a very quickly the way it’s a it’s a way just to get access to money through the kind of it’s called campaign.

00:03:35:27 – 00:03:56:03
Unknown
But it’s a short term loan. Yeah. You can get accessed up to about 20 grand within cable within six months. So that allows the clients to that if you need to do a professional stalling, you need to do an emergency, you know, minor renovations and they’ll approve that loan. The money will become available. And then I have six months remaining.

00:03:56:03 – 00:04:11:25
Unknown
And that usually gives us enough time to get the house on the market gets sold and everything wrapped up so that, um, you know, all that stuff can be paid up. And so it’s really cool because I personally designed to help just with marketing both here at the agency and then we start branching out to these renovation type projects.

00:04:11:25 – 00:04:36:12
Unknown
We used it up 3630 to oh oh yeah, up in West Moonah Yeah, I was able to fund it for campaign. I You’re using it now. I’ve got one over at Lynda Simon currently using it. It really does help owners unlock that potential in the Southside. The argument is like, I think I’m I’m ready to sell or I need to sell.

00:04:36:12 – 00:05:03:01
Unknown
I don’t have the funds to get the house up to kind of where it needs to be to be in the market. Call back to last week. Sorry, this is a way of saying like, we’ll take out this amount of money from the campaign agent that’ll come off the sale price or basically, essentially if we can add in the five grand to fix it up, we’ll see returns on the other side of it at the other end.

00:05:03:05 – 00:05:33:20
Unknown
So hopefully that investment of five grand might be know. Yes, but it’s very simple. It’s just like getting a short term loan with the bank. You know, it’s a specific product so that there’s no, you know, instant interest payments, no payments need to be made. Yep. And it’s designed solely for the housing. Yeah. So it’s really easy for us to be able to help the owner get access to those funds that we can get the funds in your bank account within 48 to 72 hours.

00:05:33:20 – 00:05:46:29
Unknown
That sort of right. Yeah. So it doesn’t take that huge amount of time to get the funds so you can get work done. Yeah. And then like if you’re someone like John that has all these people in your corner, then you can start sending out your minions to say, All right, so we need the electrician to come in and do this.

00:05:46:29 – 00:06:10:23
Unknown
We need this person to this. The funds are available, but all the funds today are being raised by I think a global campaign is over the next week doing a few of the yeah frames I’ve gotten to their starts on Monday I think as well. So let’s do you know I think that was me did that come through the microphone I heard at the end I think I did.

00:06:10:25 – 00:06:28:28
Unknown
I just heard and I looked at my stock. They did the on at breakfast this morning and it could have been how did it travel all the way up there and where you kind of are going in as well. So like we’ve gone right through the five different things that we think are going to help improve this property.

00:06:29:01 – 00:06:50:26
Unknown
So it’s no guarantees of anything, but it’s just present well-presented properties. So yeah, that’s what it boils down to. So things like Jonathan says, the buttons. Yeah, well you get a better end result. Even just this week we went and shot this place for Martin up on Brixham caught up in just off to like the straight little and that’s exactly what I was going to say.

00:06:50:26 – 00:07:12:10
Unknown
We literally got in, wrote in, took the photos. It was just neat as a button. I had everything turned over By the next day. I literally had, you know, nothing to do in the editing side of things to to change anything. Nothing needed to be moved. Video was out, everything was done. I was like, If you can get into a need as a button property, it it sells itself a really keen to see what happens with it.

00:07:12:14 – 00:07:38:01
Unknown
It’s interesting that even from your experience from the photographer, because it was positive and that’s exactly how I was. So you got there. So it feels like a house you bought a Finally we were in the property and I heard Martin’s. I want it to be a good one for you and your mates. Bassey And then later I said it, thought he was onto, onto something there and he said, Oh, Marty says that at every property he’s always trying to sell it to me.

00:07:38:03 – 00:08:07:02
Unknown
All right. Well that none of this was what was plan to talk about today. But it’s always good to kind of just get a bit of real estate banter off our chest. What I did want to cover off on was something I saw about toilets. So I boys know the toilets is where it’s at. You wouldn’t believe I was just scrolling through the the interwebs the other day and I got served this image of an almost look like, you know, one of the ice cream machines where the the swirly ones come out.

00:08:07:02 – 00:08:11:03
Unknown
The soft serve look like that, but with concrete. And what it was

00:08:11:03 – 00:08:31:18
Unknown
was a 3D printed toilet block that’s being built in Dubbo in New South Wales. So what it is, is yeah, running backwards and forwards along this predetermined route with a giant 3D printer taken that technology found this special concrete that’s available to 3D print dwellings. It’s

00:08:31:18 – 00:08:35:03
Unknown
a it manages quicker construction,

00:08:35:03 – 00:08:43:14
Unknown
extremely quick construction, like I think it’s four days or something like that is how long it took to do this.

00:08:43:14 – 00:08:44:06
Unknown
Toilet block

00:08:44:06 – 00:08:49:03
Unknown
should be limitations the size of the 3D printing only so big

00:08:49:03 – 00:09:00:18
Unknown
so looking into the house, I think there are a few companies in Australia that are doing it and you can have them and I look quite sizable. I’m not sure if it’s just done in sections the way that it’s it’s done. But yeah, you can have three bedroom homes and and such.

00:09:00:18 – 00:09:05:08
Unknown
The only thing that it can’t print is kind of your window fittings and, and some of those

00:09:05:08 – 00:09:24:05
Unknown
factors. But yeah, the toilet blocks doing the roof and like the article here says $178,000 cheaper than traditional construction Look at that I suppose the what if they get the fittings. It’s laced with that, it’s done quickly. And what is it normally?

00:09:24:05 – 00:09:44:20
Unknown
Was it just brick, the brick or concrete regardless. So just like that. But that’s like click. Here we go. I guess maybe thinking like, I think I’d pay more, but it’s not the product development faster. Yeah, well, yeah. So it’s really interesting that one of the cons I saw was that kind of it will be putting people out of a job because there’s, you know, chippies and tradies and stuff like that that.

00:09:44:20 – 00:10:04:14
Unknown
A Yeah. That would miss out with this. But yeah, it’s saying about 200 grand cheaper than traditional construction, 20% lower cost compared to traditional bricks and mortar construction. I think where a read something was like 8 minutes to set up this machine on site. So basically show up, put the concrete slab down, make sure the drawings are correct.

00:10:04:20 – 00:10:28:21
Unknown
It does like a test run to make sure it’s all correct. And then yeah, it’s feeding in this concrete, which is meant to be eco concrete, which has all been looked into. So the other thing they were talking about was this could be a way of solving the housing crisis where you can be making houses not people. We’ve got a one bedroom toilet block cook on the loo back in prison.

00:10:28:22 – 00:10:52:20
Unknown
So no, no, no. Look further into it and I can find you the plans, like basically like spec, spec home builds plans for a three bedroom, two bedroom, Four bedroom. Yeah. The, the limit. The possibilities are limitless, basically. All right. It was actually quite a trick, but it looks pretty good. It always makes me laugh. And people comment about it’s going to destroy jobs.

00:10:52:20 – 00:11:12:03
Unknown
This new technology, the never really does. It just pivots the jobs into a different direction. Well, that’s why they still need someone to run the machine. You still need someone to create the cards. You still need someone is eco friendly concrete to the site like yeah, is still. Yeah. But people get so worried about technology changing the way it works.

00:11:12:03 – 00:11:33:02
Unknown
Well, it was in I think it was one of one of the old economists we talked about that that has happened throughout history where the same argument was made with guys that used to have in that the pigs on the railroad track, the second that was somehow mechanized were like, Well, we can’t let you do that because we’re going to throw all these people out of work.

00:11:33:05 – 00:11:59:29
Unknown
What the technology did in a sense, was it enriches did not immediately all those guys suffer, of course, But over time, what happens is now that one specific labor doesn’t need to be done, well, then it gets rid of burdens. It’s like always, like Coles is example. Like when the self-checkout thing was coming out, everyone’s stressing about, you know, Oh no, check out those and your groceries are going to lose so many jobs in that industry.

00:11:59:29 – 00:12:12:04
Unknown
But no, they just pivoted them into the online part of it. And we just packing groceries on behalf of people like it doesn’t make a real difference. We just went into a slightly different roles. I guess

00:12:12:04 – 00:12:20:16
Unknown
there’s always going to be a natural aversion to anything. And ultimately the the potential can only be a good thing, as far as I could say.

00:12:20:18 – 00:12:45:05
Unknown
I mean, obviously the biggest challenges next is what they have to have to cancel approvals and minimum building standards and all that kind of stuff to set this omens down. DEADLINE That needs to be fixed and adjusted to, you know, for this app to be able to be rolled out. Yeah, as I as I looked into it, I was like, I just want to call the New South Wales Government have kind of approved this.

00:12:45:05 – 00:13:01:29
Unknown
And it says in this ABC article, which I found was that they’ll be monitoring it closely to look further into how it ages and how it goes, because I guess like any new technology seems really good on paper until you kind of test it out and find out, you know, is this going to be something that we can do in the future.

00:13:01:29 – 00:13:11:18
Unknown
There was something else about Northern Territory looking into it and and whether it would survive in the in the heat. And apparently it’s even better, the eco friendliness of it

00:13:11:18 – 00:13:29:04
Unknown
all, the bloody insulation quality like the way that absorbs heat, just amazing. Like our house where we now living with the concrete floor and bottom of level and the sun just comes in and looks up that the concrete soaks up that heat all day.

00:13:29:04 – 00:13:57:11
Unknown
Absolutely. I mean, I just don’t even have the heat is going to be knocked out. The heat just comes naturally out of the floor. And it just. Oh, well, it was a friend of mine built a huge house and into the street claim of both floors or the polished concrete. And that, you know, I know there’s a word for that in this guy house, but once it’s heated up like that, especially with the way it’s north facing so it just just I’ve seen it just either way it’s awesome.

00:13:57:15 – 00:14:25:19
Unknown
I know about this technology because our architect Frank guys told me all about the homes. So why didn’t he tell you about 3D printed homes? You better hit him up in front of you. I know he’d be even more into a job because the all the fancy corners and stuff that they want to do and all the bends and you put I want to put this sleek lawn in to make this even better than just it’s like Mr. Squiggle, you know, where the jiggy whatever it was.

00:14:25:21 – 00:14:49:20
Unknown
Oh, Etch a Sketch, Etch a Sketch out. Essentially, it’s. It’s the cat of the cat of 1930s. The old Etch-A-Sketch, speaking of old toys actually is a good Segway. You give me an in speaking of old toys that people have used Bobby mania has hit it’s been the Bob and I’m a weekend with Bobby and Oppenheimer both coming out at the cinema.

00:14:49:20 – 00:15:11:01
Unknown
I wanted to find a way where we could talk about one of the two massive films at the moment. I first was going to go with Oppenheimer and say, Where would you build your your bomb, your bomb bunker? Where would you build that to prevent the apocalypse? We’ve in the past that Tasmania amazing for the apocalypse John when he’s saw a piece of land.

00:15:11:03 – 00:15:30:08
Unknown
Yes I was going to go with that but I’ve heard that enough times so I thought I could switch to Bobby and Bobby’s dream house. Did you know that in somewhere in California that you can now Airbnb out Bobby’s dream house? And it is a very intense, isn’t it. Yeah. Can be a great experience. Or you just want to be in in 5 minutes like a museum and leave.

00:15:30:14 – 00:15:50:17
Unknown
Yeah. It’s probably more that like the overstimulation of sleeping at night with your eyes is kind of just been like, punked but by the neighbors. Like, does it glow at night? It’s very, very pink, It is very full on, but it fits the Malibu vibe. So I guess. Exactly. Well, on the Hill. So Malibu Barbie, she’s got a dream house up there.

00:15:50:17 – 00:16:12:19
Unknown
There’s also, like the the Star Wars house that we talked about previously on the Pod, the one that was the plans that people could go to. Another is a bluey house in in Brisbane, which you can go and visit and there’s the Brady Bunch. I’m pretty sure that’s an option as well as The Simpsons and a Seinfeld scale apartment.

00:16:12:19 – 00:16:43:28
Unknown
So I wanted to reach out to you guys and be like, What would be your pop culture dream house that you’d love to visit live in Airbnb? This is on the mainland. What was it? Puppet show? Oh gosh, no, no, this is the good bit. But you’re the puppeteer. She was. She. Oh, I’m lamb chops play along long, so I know I’m saying comfort in that they had their lamb chops.

00:16:44:00 – 00:17:04:17
Unknown
Yeah. So that was I remember being a kid thinking this is amazing because they had a little secret doors and trapdoors and stuff, So I don’t think it would be comfortable, but I’ll be very keen to see maybe just that kid. That’s got to say, that’s life size disco. That’s an amazing kind of deep reference in your brain, like locked in there.

00:17:04:17 – 00:17:25:29
Unknown
If someone said to me, When was the last time you thought about lamb chops? John this stuff, I still hate that. That made me bear easily. Yeah. Cool. I’m going to roll with that. All right, Pat, what do you got? Lego. That’s outside of Las Vegas. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Big giant White House and made to look like giant Lego bricks.

00:17:25:29 – 00:17:47:03
Unknown
That’s brick. And then inside, it’s like constructed like Lego to me, you know? I mean, I love the Lego stuff, and I just think it’d be really cool to jack off and watch it on YouTube. This guy who’s I can’t remember his name or Unbreakable or something. Anyway, he’s got one of the videos where he’s made a giant Lego house out of actual Lego bricks.

00:17:47:06 – 00:18:04:03
Unknown
So a fully functional out of Lego bricks. And I’ve worked it all out. I’m just like, This guy’s got waiters running. Well, it’s only fair if you give us your kid. Yeah, I did think about this. I was trying to work it out and I was like, You had the time to think because you live through ahead of us, so you should have an answer.

00:18:04:05 – 00:18:24:15
Unknown
Yeah, I didn’t actually do that. I guess I probably should have put some thought into that. What would be my ultimate dream house? I’m going to go with the house entirely. Yeah, well, like, but that’s Sandy. And like, you know, I hate sand. Another one. That kind of one was the Castle from Ultron. Yeah. So that’s why I’m more.

00:18:24:15 – 00:18:48:20
Unknown
More landing like something that’s just right out there. Like the He-Man Castle or. But maybe that’s just front of mind. Mm. Michael J. Fox is house from Back to the Future. Yeah, we’re getting. We’re getting in the right zone after he’s gone back and fixed the time. Of course not. When he’s poor, when he’s come back and he, you know, when he comes back and he’s got the eye, he’s got the four wheel drive and stuff, it’s like, Oh man, awesome.

00:18:48:23 – 00:19:10:11
Unknown
The Richie Rich has now, like with all those YouTube videos these days, you can just see all those mansions there. I mean, what are you going to do with 70 bathrooms and bedrooms like those like the maid? Well, that’s what this guy, this YouTuber you watch is he just filled it with, like the pulpit balls. He’s like, I feel my whole with Bobby balls.

00:19:10:13 – 00:19:29:13
Unknown
It’s just like y New York City sewer. Yeah. All right, There you go. I’m going to. That is my pop culture reference. And you’ve got to you got to get the pizza. You got to put the faith in at the five bucks. It’s a great. Yes, 33, eight and a third player. They say. There you go. No one’s crazy.

00:19:29:13 – 00:19:50:08
Unknown
And obviously John’s a massive Harry Potter fan, but it’s got multiple rooms and they’re all set up in the different houses. And when you arrive, you have to put the head on that which room you sleep in. Oh, really? Yeah. That tells you which room you sleeping in. I reckon way more dirty stuff happens in this Lutheran house than in not as wholesome, you know, Hufflepuff.

00:19:50:08 – 00:20:15:00
Unknown
They’re just. They’re just sitting around right in between Slither and look out. Right. Well, that’s the property for. For this way, I got nothing else. As I said, I was meant to be at a photoshoot. Yeah, I just want to have a yarn with my mates. So good to be back, boys. We’ll be back next week with something proper related.

00:20:15:03 – 00:20:16:08
Unknown
So you.

00:20:16:13 – 00:20:34:23
