This week we’ll take a look at the back yard.
- Firstly, make sure the grass, plants, trees and garden beds look nice and are all free of weeds and everything has been trimmed back.
- At this time of year local nursery or Bunnings store have a large variety of garden plants and flowers that are both inexpensive and will add plenty of colour to you garden. It’s a great idea to plant some of these around the front and back garden as a bit of colour is always a big tick for buyers.
- If you have side fences and gates, make sure they’re in good working order as this can be very important to buyers with young children and family pets.
- An outdoor entertaining area is a great asset to your home but make sure this area is looking its best, otherwise it will have a negative effect on your property. Your buyers may make a lower offer if they believe there’s work needed to be done here.
- Just like preparing the front of your house, you need to give the bricks or boards, windows and facers a good wash too and touch up any paintwork if needed.
- If you want to add an “inexpensive feature” to your back yard that could make a significant difference, build a screening fence to give you some good sort after privacy. It could just be the defining item that your buyers are looking for.
