A Celebration of 100 episodes of The Property Pod

Who would’ve thought that these three schoolmates-turned friends and workmates, who at times talk about nothing in particular, would be the same trio who run Tasmania’s #1 Real Estate Podcast?l

What all began as some casual chats over coffee turned into meaningful yet fun real estate conversations in a purpose built studio.

Lo and behold, Tasmanians! The Property Pod has just officially reached its 100th episode!!!

Put all 100 episodes together and you will total 166, 980 seconds (or close to 48 hours) of nothing but fun, educational, and relatable content about the Hobart Marketplace, a new milestone for the show is unlocked!

This wouldn’t be possible without the collective efforts of the Terrific Trio: Aaron Horne (the magnificent Marketing guru), Patrick Berry (the dope Director), and John McGregor (the superb Sales Agent)–all housed under 4one4 Property Co.

Not only do viewers like the idea of listening to some real estate discussions, but also to the real-life banter of the trio sharing their day-to-day experiences. The show helps prove the common misconception about real estate wrong–what others thought was just a boring and dragging topic can actually be interestingly fun.

And without realising it, you’ll find yourself getting hooked with the pod’s weekly episodes–just exactly what the show wanted to portray right from the beginning: “accessible, easy to follow, and never dry and dull”.

Friendship would often see them get together for a weekly coffee to chat about all things property to their personal lives. Since then however, they have joined forces under the 4one4 Property Co. banner and are going from strength to strength… and we like to think the Podcast had a little something to do with the joining of forces.

continuously attracting new audiences, who are all looking forward to streaming a mixture of new knowledge and funny stories each week. Because of its concept and the support it is constantly growing, The Property Pod has already been recognised with an Innovation Award in the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania (REIT).

If you’re an avid listener, you probably have already witnessed how diverse the topics on the podcast can be- the aim of the show is to angle the conversation around relevant property-related topics but to give it an easy and accessible spin. The show can quickly swing from serious issues in the real estate industry to some light-hearted banter reminiscent of the trios school yard days. Nevertheless, one thing remains for sure: all topics are discussed in a manner that everyone will understand–while still having fun!

The host of the show, Aaron Horne, is someone who says that if you asked him a few years ago, you probably could have counted on one hand how many conversations he had had about real estate; and now he has over 100 recordings of him doing so?! As someone who was once clueless in the industry, Aaron shared how he has learnt a lot over the journey of The Property Pod…

“I think being the layman on the show really helps keep it grounded and relatable to our audience. Whilst in discussion, I can play the role of the listener and be like ‘woah, boys, I’ve got no idea what you are talking about here. Step it back a bit.”

It’s worth noting though that Aaron did admit if things go down a path where he gets really lost, he will often pivot the conversation away from some of those headier topics with some movie reference or something out of left field… think any episode that relates the tax. If you look close enough, you can literally see his brain start to explode in these conversations.

“The catalyst for the show was being absolutely lost when it came to buying my first home. I’d been working in the real estate industry as a photographer for a while, but when it came time for me to start the buying process, I still felt completely lost & I thought, I am lucky enough to be able to ask these mates who were experts in the field for advice, but what about all the other people out there who don’t have that at their disposal.”

Aaron went on to state that the very first goal of The Property Pod was pretty simple.  “If we can help one or two people with the simple stuff, we are doing our job,” he said in an interview with Jarrad Bevan from The Mercury.

It hasn’t always been the trio hogging the mics and trying to steal all the attention either. Looking back, there have been 36 guests invited in the Property Pod studio  and this achievement is shared with each one of them for their valuable contribution. Some of them even crossed extra miles and became our repeat guests, listening in, who can blame them if they had a great time with the trio & wanted to join back in on the hijinks for a second, third or even fourth time! (Here is looking at you, Simon Pressley *wink).

On reflecting back on many reasons for being a part of the podcast John added: “For me, I love to surround myself with people much smarter than I am (Pat & Aaron included) and that’s what has been one of the best parts of this project, being able to continue to speak with so many amazing people who offer perspectives we never even knew or thought of. I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of it all”

From moving to a more technologically-advanced studio, upgrading from an audio only production to a now primarily video-based podcast, and onboarding our unofficial member who helps us in organising the show notes (Shout out to Superstar Content King, Niño), the Property Pod has consistently been upgrading since its official launch. While we want to give the audiences improvement and more quality content, the commitment and goal of educating Tasmanians about the Hobart Marketplace and the real estate industry, in general, remains to be truthful.

Speaking of improvement, what once started out as a small project has now branched out into another new and excitable tangible output: The Property Pod magazine–which is planned to be published quarterly. This features some of the write-ups and blogs on our website to keep the same goal running: to educate more people and build their confidence in fulfilling their real estate dreams. These are distributed to different locations, so keep your eyes peeled on the tables in your next coffee shop visit to find a copy…or you can even check out the digital version here Property Pod

So with that being said, Prepare to take a trip down memory lane as you tune in to the 100th episode of The Property Pod which was published on Friday, 29 October. A series of throwbacks, trivia, and surprises await you as the whole team celebrates this significant milestone!

We share this achievement not only with the whole Team but with everyone who regularly listens to The Property Pod!

Here’s to recording the next hundred episodes soon! Congratulations!!!
