East Bound & (Get) Down

If you have been around Rosny Park over the past week, you may have noticed some amazing artworks starting to come to life on a select few walls around the Bayfield Street area. Pop down to Bayfield Street this Sunday, 28th of November, and join in as it transforms into a festive street party Vibe as it unveils the newest street art festival- East Mode.

As a celebration of these newly-painted walls, Bayfield Street Laneway will be filled with festivities by East Mode this Sunday. Be prepared to have not only your eyes treated to some stunning new pieces but also a line-up of local musicians crafting some tunes that will prick your ears too; explore some rare gems in the Re-Loved Market stalls (you might find the perfect chrissy present for that hard to buy friends who only likes unique items?!) and try varieties of food selection from some of Hobart’s Best food trucks.

Aside from those, VanD Mobile Exhibition will also be parking up in the event to launch a brand new initiative with the young Tassie artists advocating for the importance of mental health among the youth. The collaboration is called T4Blue where 6 brilliant artists will be showcased through a range of cool T-shirts with unique designs patterned to each artist’s individual style. These will be available for sale with all profits on the day going to Beyond Blue to help those who help, help more.

Always wondered what it would be like to be a graffiti artist, but worried about that little issue of it being illegal to spray paint public property? Well East Mode is the place for you- Another awesome highlight for the day will be the public spray wall, which will descend into the lane, converting the street into a  fun and interactive space for this pop-up festival. Let your imagination run wild as you try out those artistic muscles that have been dying to be unleashed all these years.

There’s no way our Team at 4one4 Property Co. will be missing this new yet highly-anticipated festival. Aside from the fact that our new office is situated in Bayfield Street, our Director, Patrick Berry, goes crazy for all things street art! Whilst most Directors of companies are hoping to remove any graffiti or street art off of their workplace, who remembers in 2019 when Patrick commissioned Deamz to slap up an original piece on our glenorchy office wall.

We’ll certainly check this out on Sunday and we’re hoping to bump into some familiar faces at EAST MODE to say Hi and share in the excitement!  When word went around the office that there was a Public Spray space where you could break out your inner Banksy, a few sets of ears definitely pricked with excitement & intrigue.

East Mode is a family-friendly festival for all ages and an alcohol-free event. Make sure to check the artists while they work on their masterpieces from 22-28 November around Rosny Park.

Also, don’t miss out on the fun and exciting happenings on Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm at Bayfield Street Laneway.

East Mode is being put on by the gang at Vibrance projects, you might remember them as the crew behind the ‘Heart to Art – the Corridor of Modern Art’ we covered previously on our Blog. It is supported by Clarence Arts and Events, Arts Tasmania, and Re-Loved Market. Their support greatly contributed to the formation of this much-awaited event.
